I’m excited to host my event at The Rickhouse! What are the steps to do so?
Wonderful! Once you have taken your tour, you will be equipped with a custom proposal outlining costs associated with your event, have the opportunity to discuss rental options and to ask any questions you may have.
Can I drop by to see the space if I happen to be in the area?
We look forward to seeing you! In order to give you the best possible service, all tours and meetings are by appointment only. To take a tour, please submit a tour form here.
How many people can The Rickhouse accommodate?
The size of your party may vary based on the layout and activities of your event. We can accommodate up to 325 guests for a seated meal, and more for cocktail style events. Check out our Layouts page for our recommended layouts based on the guest count and style of your event!
What are the closest hotels to The Rickhouse?
The following hotels are all conveniently located in downtown Durham and less than a 10 minute walk to our front door:

Does The Rickhouse have audio and visual equipment that I can use?
We sure do! The Rickhouse is equipped with state of the art technology that includes a projector, projector screen, wireless microphones and a wireless speaker sound system that is wired both inside and on our outside balcony. We also have HDMI and RGB direct connects, Apple TV, and XLR inputs.
Where can my guests park?
We have agreements with neighbor businesses on Foster Street to offer convenient weekend parking for your guests. We are happy to show you parking options during your tour!
What Vendors can I use?
Caterers must be selected from our Caterer List. All other vendors are up to you. Access to our guest portal with all the vendor information is given access to at your tour!
Do I need an Event Coordinator?
Yes. You must have at least a day of coordinator for your event.
Are there any items that are prohibited at my event?
The following are prohibited to use anywhere inside The Rickhouse or outside on our grounds:
Glitter
Confetti
Sparklers
Smoke and water vapor machines
Duct tape and scotch tape - décor on I-beams and walls must be hung with painters tape or hung from cup hooks only, and gaff tape is required for any cords that are affixed to the floor. All other kinds of tape will remove the floor stain and the band/DJ will be required to pay damage fees. Click here to buy gaff tape!
Open flames (column or tapered candles, etc.). All flames must be contained within a fireproof votive.
